RON’S RANT:

Things are starting to come together.  It would appear that a few more members are getting involved.  A good example of this is Rick Routten, who along with Diane, is sponsoring the April walk.  He is also the guest speaker at March’s general membership meeting, 22 March.  These are the kinds of things that we need from all of our members.

Betty Bess informed me that we have enough workers for the April walk.  This is GREAT!! I’d like to THANK in advance all of you who volunteered.  But, there is always a but, we have a walk/picnic coming up in June, so you need see, e-mail or call Betty to sign up to help out.

Thanks to everyone who attended the February general membership meeting.  I know that the traffic situation I-64 kept a few people away.  Our attendance has been rising but we need to do a lot BETTER.

Remember IT IS YOUR CLUB; you need to get involved.

Ron

Spotlight on Sales Committee:

Diane Berard chairs the sales committee.  She is responsible for ordering achievement award books and other specialty items from AVA.  When needed she finds and order club T-shirts, sweatshirts and other club products from vendors.

Diane stores all the above items and along with her “baggage handler” insures that these items get to all club walks and are available for sale.

After the walk/sale she balances the sales receipts, makes a bank deposit and returns items to storage.

So, if you are interested in helping her out, please give her a call.

Group Walk at Mariners’ Museum

February 25th was a wonderful day in the middle of some very cold days.  We had 20 people walk the group walk at Mariners’ Museum.

Change in Mariners’ Museum Hours

Mariners' Museum will open at noon on Sundays starting immediately. Anyone wanting to walk the year round event before noon on Sundays will need to make arrangements to get the instructions.

Bus Corner

We haven’t received enough input from club members to plan a fall trip.  One alternative is a one-day bus trip planned and coordinated by an independent tour group. Diane is gathering information about the tour group.  If there is a place you’d like to see let her know.

Thanks for 2005 Donations…

From the Army Transportation Museum Foundation:

“The Pathfinders’ $25 donation…raises the total of their contributions to $100 and entitles them to membership…and to full voting privileges. In addition, their name is to be inscribed on the “Roll of Honor” displayed in the Museum’s Lobby.”

Colonial Williamsburg Foundation:

"Your generosity allows us to continue to connect our nation's past and present—bringing the ideas of the early patriots to bear on today's complex challenges."

YMCA:

“With your help, we will continue to build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities.”

Red Cross:

“…your donation allows the American Red Cross to respond in times of these disasters to meet the immediate needs of the victims.”

Mariner’s Museum:

“We gratefully acknowledge the receipt of your gift.”

Friends of the Hampton Public Library:

“… your donation … will help us to continue to support programs for the library and to be an advocate for libraries….”
