Around – and out of the country – with Diane and Ron Berard

Like to walk different walks?  If you are heading to Charleston, SC, and have already walked the Historic District walk, then I recommend the VM at Charleston's Magnolia Plantation. The Plantation does have an admission fee ($13.00) but it is well worth it since the walk is relaxing, with a great view and lots of things to do and see.  We started the walk about 9 a.m.  Walked through the gardens (with over 900 camellias and in excess of 250 azaleas plus hundreds of other flowers) took a boat tour ($6.00), a train ride ($6.00) and then finished the walk through the Audubon Swamp Garden.

We walked through the walking path in the swamp and saw black water cypress and the tupelo swamp complete with alligators.

They also offer a tour ($6.00) of the historic home. The walk goes through the entire plantation with lots of trails.

Ron and I had the opportunity to walk the Sydney Australia year round walk. The walk starts at the Quay part of the city, goes by the Opera House (don't forget to stop and take a tour), through several parks and by the Harbor, by the Maritime Museum and Aquarium and ends in a part of Sydney called "The Rocks" (where the pubs are!).  A wonderful walk with great scenery and very friendly people!
