October 21st Event:

Come one come all to the October 21st club event.  If you haven’t signed up to work please contact Betty Bess.  Start times are:  9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Let’s get as many club members to help and walk as possible.  Please see separate article on procedures for taking the bus to the start point.

RON’S RANT

October is National Volkssport month.  The club has a few special patches to commemorate the walk.  You must complete an AVA/IVV sanctioned event to be able to purchase the patch.

The weather is cooler, great walking weather so let’s see if we can have over 100 walkers at our October 21st event.

A special thanks to Sharon Dillon for compiling September’s newsletter.  I appreciate her stepping forward to help the club. Thanks Sharon!

Thanks to Art Whittaker for single-handedly manning the Pathfinder’s booth at the Girl Scout Jamboree September 30th.  He also built a GREAT container for displaying brochures. Thanks Art!

Please support our club and our walk on the 21st.

A New Walker? by Annette Tollett

A frog was found in our walk box in Williamsburg after Ernesto had paid us a visit on September 1, 2006.  We had over a foot of rain and it looks like the frog had taken shelter in the box.
